The Chair of Harvard’s Department of Nutrition (Dr. Walter Willet) says pick PLANT PROTEIN, not animal protein. Why?

Well, first, plants have plenty of protein. If you’re eating enough calories from a sensible variety of plant foods, then you’re getting enough protein.

Second, unlike animal protein, plant protein is packaged with phytonutrients, antioxidants and fiber, which are important for disease prevention and optimal health.

In contrast, animal protein is packaged exactly zero fiber, antioxidants or phytonutrients. Instead, it’s packaged with harmful saturated fats, cholesterol, endotoxins, and other substances that don’t nutrify us, but actually increase our risk of disease and chronic health problems.

So, go vegan! It’s easy to do. It’s healthy. And, don’t forget, it also withdrawals our participation from the suffering and death unnecessarily imposed on countless billions of helpless animals, and happens to be one of the most impactful positive actions you can take as an individual to help the planet.
