We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and security of any personal information about those who visit and use our Website (“Users”). We want you to know how we protect your information.  Please note, however, that this Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that MYF does not own or control, or of persons that MYF does not employ or manage, including any third-party content contributors and any third-party websites to which the Website links (including third party social media websites to which MeatYourFuture.com is linked or that MYF otherwise utilizes).

Capitalized terms used but not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meanings given to them in the Terms of Use Agreement, into which this Privacy Policy (as may be modified from time to time pursuant to Paragraph 9 of the  Terms of Use Agreement) has been incorporated. By using the Content through the Website, you explicitly consent to the collection and use of your personal information as outlined in this Privacy Policy.

1. Collection of User Information

Our collection of information about Users may occur in any of the following four ways: (1) directly from Users, (2) from our Website server logs, (3) from computer cookies, and (4) from certain third-parties services such as Google Analytics. These four methods of collecting information are described in further detail below. We use the collected information primarily to help refine the Content we provide through the Website in a manner that we hope will be most relevant and helpful to you. We do not share any of this information with third parties, unless we say so in this Privacy Policy or when we believe in good faith we are required to do so by law.

For more information about how Google uses and collects data, please visit Google’s website at http://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners (or such other URL as Google may provide for posting this information from time to time).

2. Subscriptions and Personal Information

You can visit the Website and view the Content without revealing your personal information. However, if you wish to subscribe for newsletters or updates, we ask that you provide us with certain information, including your name, email address, city of residence, and/or certain other additional categories of information (collectively, “Personal Information”). Do not disclose any information in these public forums that might be considered confidential.

5. Information Collected from Cookies

In order to offer and provide a customized Content to Users, we may use cookies to store and help track information about you and your use of the Website. Cookies are simply small pieces of data that are sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive. We may use cookies from time to time to help the Website recognize who you are and to help you navigate the Website during your visits. Cookies will also allow us to save passwords and preferences, if any are employed by the Website in the future, so you do not need to reenter them each time you visit the Website.

The use of cookies is relatively standard. Most browsers initially have default settings that accept cookies. However, if you prefer, you can set your browser to either notify you when you receive a cookie or to refuse to accept cookies. You should understand that some features of many websites may not function properly if you do not accept cookies.

6. Information Collected from Third Parties

We may use services hosted by third parties, such as Google Analytics, to help us understand our Users’ use of the Website and the Content. These services may collect information sent by your browser as part of a web page request, including your IP address or cookies. If these third-party services collect information, they do so anonymously and in the aggregate to provide information helpful to us such as Website trends, without identifying individual visitors. Please see Paragraph 5 immediately above for more information on how you can control the use of cookies on your computer.

7. Protection of Collected Information

We have implemented certain measures to help protect your personal information (including your Personal Information) from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. However, please note that we cannot guarantee that unauthorized persons will always be unable to defeat our security measures. Also, please note that we may store and process your personal information in systems located outside of your home country. However, regardless of where storage and processing may occur, we take commercially reasonable and customary steps to ensure that your information is protected, consistent with the principles set forth under this Privacy Policy.

8. Persons with Access to User Information

We will not sell, rent or lease mailing lists or other Personal Information of Users to others, and we will not make your personal information available to any unaffiliated third parties, except as follows:

  • To agents and/or contractors who may use such information on our behalf or in connection with their relationship with us (for example, we may use third parties as content and technology providers to provide certain back-office functions);*
  • If we determine in good faith that sharing such information is required by law or in a matter of public safety or policy; or
  • If we believe in good faith that sharing such information is necessary to protect our rights or property, or to enforce the Terms of Use Agreement.

* While we take commercially reasonable efforts and customary steps to ensure that any agents and contractors that we use preserve the confidentiality of such information to which they may have access, we cannot guarantee that they will, and we are not liable for any such agent’s or contractor’s own acts or omissions.

We may also use statistics regarding usage for Content development purposes, but we only use those statistics in the aggregate and they do not include any personally identifiable information about individual Users.

9. Other Authorized Disclosures

Notwithstanding anything in this Privacy Policy to the contrary, you understand and agree that MYF may access, preserve, and disclose any information we have collected about you or that you have submitted: (a) in response to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish, protect, or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; (b) to protect the rights and property of MYF, its affiliates, or the public; (3) if we believe it is necessary in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, fraud, or situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person; (4) to any parent company, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under common control with MYF (in which case we will require such entities to honor this Privacy Policy); and (5) if the Website is acquired by or merged with another entity (in which case we will require such entity to assume our obligations under this Privacy Policy).
