Must You Pay for Animals to Suffer?

Animals used for food suffer immensely. The chicken pieces in your salad or your sandwich came from an individual who was bred to grow very quickly in a short amount of time, causing painful mobility and other health problems.

That individual suffered and had a very short life until she was crammed into a crate with other terrified animals to be transported to the slaughterhouse. And, if she survived that trip, she had her throat slit and may or may not have been rendered fully unconscious by the time she was dunked into scalding hot water to remove her feathers.

The chicken whose body parts are in your salad or on your sandwich was a living, feeling, sentient being. She did not want to die, and her suffering was very real.

The same is equally true for all of the billions of other animals used for food – be they chicken, cow, pig, fish, or otherwise, and be it for their flesh, dairy or eggs. They are all unjustly exploited and have their lives violently ended at a mere fraction of what would have been their natural lifespans.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. You can nourish yourself with plant foods and leave animals alone.

Please do not pay for animals to be harmed and killed. Please embrace your common sense and respect for life. Please go vegan.
